Joseph McDermott has over 16 years of financial services industry experience and has served as CCO or Compliance Director for several investment advisers, investment companies, broker-dealers and hedge fund advisers, including Driehaus Capital Management, Artisan Partners L.P., and First Trust Advisors L.P.

From 1996 to 2000, Mr. McDermott was a Field Supervisor in the Chicago office of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) where he was responsible for conducting financial and operational audits of NASD registered broker-dealers. While at the NASD, Mr. McDermott received the prestigious President’s Award from Mary L. Shapiro for his outstanding performance and service to the NASD. Prior to joining the NASD, he was an investigator with the Chicago Board of Trade's Office of Investigations and Audits.

Mr. McDermott received an M.B.A. from De Paul University and a B.A. from Loras College. In addition to holding the Series 3, 4, 7, 24, 27, 53, 55 and 66 licenses, he also holds the Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) designation from The Institute of Internal Auditors and the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists. Mr. McDermott is an active member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals and is a frequent speaker at compliance conferences and seminars.
