Christopher Lewis is General Counsel and a Director at Alaric. Mr. Lewis has served financial industry clients throughout his 15 year career. At Alaric he serves in the role of Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for a broad range of investment management firms, including registered investment advisers and registered and unregistered commodity pool operators, and registered investment companies. His clients include hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, managed account platforms, exchange-traded funds and mutual funds. He has successfully managed SEC examinations addressing issues under the Investment Advisers Act and the Investment Company Act. He also has extensive experience with swaps and other derivatives.
Prior to joining Alaric in 2009, he was in private practice for over 13 years, most recently as a partner at Thacher, Proffitt & Wood where his practice areas included capital markets, derivatives, distressed assets, regulatory compliance and international finance. He received his J.D. from the University Of Virginia School Of Law, where he was a member of the Virginia Tax Review, and his B.A. magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William & Mary. He is admitted to practice law in New York.
